Because when what’s happening inside you changes, so does what becomes possible in your life.
I could tell you my life story and the many challenges I’ve overcome.
I could tell you how I developed my intuitive abilities, or how more than 25 years of study, experience, and working with clients led me to create the Finally Free™ System.
But perhaps the best way to tell you about me is through the people I’ve had the privilege of helping.
Take Susan, for instance.
At the end of our session, she has a serene look on her face. For years, she had carried an enormous emotional weight that had gradually taken away much of the joy she once felt.
Now, something is different.
Smiling at me, she says, “You need to tell people that it’s possible… it’s possible to feel content, to feel this good.”
Susan had previously worked with numerous therapists, yet the issue she had been dealing with for eight years was still there. Helping her finally resolve it was one of those moments that captures why I do this work.
Because I see what happens when an inner barrier that has been affecting someone for years is no longer there.
The fear that made her hesitate. The self-doubt that followed her despite everything she had achieved. The unresolved emotion from her past that continued to affect how she felt in the present. The limiting belief that influenced what she believed she could earn, receive, or become. The old hurt that showed up in her relationships. The internal reaction she understood intellectually but still couldn’t seem to change.
When those barriers are resolved, something much bigger becomes possible.
My clients feel lighter and more at peace within themselves. They trust themselves more deeply. Their relationships become happier and more harmonious. They make decisions without the same fear or internal resistance. They pursue opportunities without an old belief quietly getting in the way. They become more comfortable receiving more, earning more, and expanding their impact. And they reconnect with the joy, purpose, and freedom that had become obscured by everything they were carrying.
The change doesn’t stop with them.
I see it in how they relate to their partners, children, families, friends, and colleagues. I see it in the way they lead, the decisions they make, the opportunities they pursue, and what they go on to create in the world.
As Susan leaves my rooms, she turns to me and says, “You need to help many, many more people feel like this. This content…and light…and free. And let them know, it is possible to feel this way again.”
“I promise I will,” I tell her.

“I was angry, negative and snapped a lot at people, and this frustrated me. From being a happy-go-lucky person, I now had low self-esteem, I didn’t believe I deserved love, I was unhappy at work, and my future seemed negative. I also knew I had to let go of a tough childhood and the grief of losing my dad and boyfriend a few years ago.
As a result of working with Dr. Sonja, I am now the happiest person I have been in a long time because I dealt with my past baggage. I’m more confident, I know my worth, stand my ground and love my life. Working with her has made me a wiser, stronger, positive and just all round better individual!
Dr. Sonja is brilliant. She is a world of difference to any psychologist I’ve ever been to. I have recommended her to many people and have passed her lessons and advice given to me onto others. I tell them that ‘she changed my life’.
Because she has so much knowledge and experience, she’s also able to provide you with a better understanding of yourself and give you greater insight into any aspect of your life. And she does this with so much care and warmth.
I’m a new person since I’ve been to her. I actually don’t believe in seeing anyone else. With Dr. Sonja you know that you will achieve positive and lasting results.”

I refused to settle for “a little better”
Long before I began helping other people resolve what was happening within them, I had to find answers for myself.
While I was at university, and for no apparent reason, I began to lose interest in life. Sadness seemed to follow me everywhere, which simply wasn’t like me. There was a dark fog in my mind and a heaviness in my body that I couldn’t seem to shake.
Being an action-taker, I wanted to sort it out fast.
So I went to my doctor. He diagnosed me with depression and prescribed an antidepressant, which I took believing it would help me feel like myself again.
Instead, after three months, I felt even more numb and sad than before.
When he suggested trying another antidepressant, something in me said no. I didn’t want to keep trying different ways of changing how I felt without understanding why I felt this way in the first place.
I considered therapy too. I had friends and fellow students who had been seeing psychologists for six months or longer, so naturally I asked them whether it was helping.
The answer I heard most often was:
“A little.”
And I remember thinking, A little?
I didn’t want to feel a little better. I wanted my life back.
I wanted to wake up and feel like myself again. I wanted the heaviness gone. And I wanted to understand what had happened inside me that had caused it in the first place.
I didn’t know whether that was possible.
But I was determined to find out.
The unexpected detour that lit the way
Something happened that, at the time, seemed completely unrelated.
I developed severe lower back pain.
The pain became so bad that I could barely move, so I asked a friend for help. She gave me a copy of Louise L. Hay’s book You Can Heal Your Life, which introduced me to the idea that there could be a connection between what was happening emotionally and what I was experiencing physically.
I was fascinated.
This was before Google, so finding answers wasn’t as simple as typing a question into a search bar. I read every book I could get my hands on and began exploring psychology, personal development, metaphysics and psychoneuroimmunology, the study of how the mind can affect health and wellness.
The more I learned, the more I began looking at myself differently.
Eventually, I recognized that beneath the sadness was a lot of anger I had never properly dealt with.
That felt significant. So I did what I always do when I want to understand something: I went looking for answers.
I attended personal development courses and learned different ways to manage it, control it, and distract myself from it.
Some of those approaches gave me useful insights. Some helped me feel better for a while.
But the anger was still there.
The sadness was still there.
And I was still depressed.
That was the part I couldn’t ignore.
As I kept searching, I began to recognize something that would eventually shape the work I do today: relief isn’t the same as resolution.
I had gained insight. I had learned techniques. Some of them had given me relief.
But I didn’t want to spend my life becoming increasingly skilled at managing something I didn’t want to have in the first place.
I wanted to know what was creating it.
And more importantly, I wanted to know whether that could be changed.
How I finally set myself free
At that point, I decided to become my own guinea pig.
I drew on everything I was learning about psychology, the mind-body connection and metaphysics, together with my intuitive abilities, and spent countless hours examining my own thoughts, emotions, reactions and experiences.
I tried different ideas and processes on myself.
Some worked. Some didn’t.
And when something didn’t work, I kept looking.
Gradually, I began uncovering emotions, beliefs and experiences that I hadn’t realized were still affecting me. And as I worked through them, something remarkable started happening.
The heaviness began to lift.
The sadness began to disappear.
And eventually, the depression that had once consumed my life was gone.
I wasn’t managing it better. I wasn’t coping with it or medicating it.
It was gone.
I felt like myself again.
And I was free.
That experience changed the direction of my life because I knew I couldn’t simply walk away from what I had discovered.
I wanted to understand it more deeply. I wanted to know why some things created real change while others only seemed to help temporarily. And I wanted to know whether what had helped me could help other people too.
So I immersed myself in learning. I completed more than 50 additional courses spanning personal development, holistic and quantum healing, NLP, energetics, spiritual practices and psychic development.
In the years that followed, I continued my academic studies, ultimately earning six degrees, including a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Counseling, and became internationally certified in hypnotherapy, holistic life coaching and stress management.
In those early years of my practice, while working with clients, I continued deepening and refining my understanding of what creates profound, lasting change.
And I never stopped asking the question that had started it all:
What actually needs to change for someone to be free of an inner challenge rather than continually having to manage it?
Over time, I refined what worked, discarded what didn’t, and developed new ways of identifying and resolving the deeper causes of the mental, emotional and behavioral barriers people experience.
That work ultimately became my proprietary Finally Free™ System.
What my own experience
taught me
One of the most important things I’ve learned, both from my own experience and from more than 25 years of working with clients, is that you can understand an inner challenge incredibly well and still experience it.
I certainly did.
I understood more and more about myself. I could recognize my emotions and see some of the patterns behind them. I had techniques I could use when those emotions surfaced.
And all of that was valuable.
But knowing why something happens isn’t necessarily the same as no longer having it happen.
That distinction changed everything for me.
It’s why I became so interested in what lies beneath the thoughts, feelings and behaviors we experience on the surface, and why my work today focuses on identifying and resolving the subconscious root causes of mental barriers, unresolved emotions, limiting beliefs and self-limiting behaviors.
Because from the beginning, I was never looking for a better way to cope with what I was experiencing.
I wanted to be free of it.
And that is still at the heart of the work I do today.
And perhaps this is where my story meets yours
You may never have experienced depression as I did.
Your story may look completely different from mine.
Perhaps you’ve already done a great deal of work on yourself. You’ve grown. You’ve achieved. You’re self-aware. You understand yourself far better than you did years ago.
And much of your life may already work very well.
Yet there may still be something inside that you know isn’t resolved.
Perhaps you know you’re capable of earning more, yet something seems to create an invisible ceiling.
You want to make a bigger impact, but a fear, limiting belief, doubt or hesitation gets in the way.
Your professional life may be thriving, but something from your past still affects how you feel.
Perhaps an old hurt continues to surface in your relationships. You question yourself when there is no logical reason to. You find it difficult to receive, trust, speak up, let someone in or fully accept yourself.
Or perhaps, despite everything you’ve accomplished, you simply don’t feel as happy, peaceful, fulfilled or free inside as you want to.
I understand the frustration of knowing you’ve already done so much and wondering why something is still there.
It’s one of the reasons I care so deeply about this work.
You see, when an inner barrier is actually resolved, you don’t have to keep organizing your life around it.
You don’t have to keep pushing through the fear, talking yourself out of the doubt, or regulating the emotional reaction when it appears.
That’s because what created the challenge is gone.
And that changes what becomes possible.
You can make decisions without the same hesitation. Show up differently in your relationships. Feel more comfortable being fully yourself. Pursue opportunities without an old belief quietly interfering. Expand your income and impact without the same internal ceiling.
And sometimes the change is much quieter, but no less important.
You simply notice that the old reaction isn’t there anymore.
You feel different inside.
More peaceful. More grounded. More yourself.
That’s the kind of freedom I wanted for myself all those years ago. And it’s the reason I do the work I do today.
When you’re ready to create that kind of change, I’m here to help.

“I was unmotivated, depressed, and generally unhappy with the way my life was going. I also had not dealt with the death of my baby son and it was clouding my horizon. I had ‘the house, husband, child and car’ but still felt unfulfilled. I also needed a more spiritual approach – because I felt empty.
Dr. Sonja is very compassionate, kind and caring; and really listens, but also expects you to make the necessary effort to change whatever you’ve come to seek her help for – this was just what I needed!
All I can say is she’s changed my life. She has given me real tools to deal with the every day ‘stuff’ and also helped me work through some of my past life experiences that were negatively impacting me in this life.
For the first time in my life I feel I can cope with life. I was diagnosed as bi-polar and by working through certain issues I have been able to go off all medication and feel so much better for it.
I have done numerous courses on ‘positive thinking’, life skills etc. and been to many psychologists and psychiatrists in my life.
No one, and I mean no one, has had such an impact on me as Dr. Sonja has. She has given me a way forward. I am a much more balanced, spiritual person since working with her.
She is the most interesting and evolved person I have ever met, and she has a real gift, which she uses to help others. I feel truly blessed to have her in my life and I have learnt so much. It has been a wonderful, liberating journey with her!”
